Mail

Majority of the time at night, before I go to bed, I write in a journal consisting of thoughts that are in my head that I should remember. It’s mostly for lyrical purposes, but lately it has been letters. Some are stupid, some should stay in my journal and some I should send. It is hard sometimes when you have thoughts of a person and you write it down and a week later when you read it, you think,

“What was I thinking?”

That’s the way it goes I guess. Anyway, I just think it’s nice to get a letter in the mail, thats hand written.

I’ll keep writing these letters and intend to finish them…hopefully. Maybe you might just get one.

SPEAK UP

There are so many thoughts that are going through my head right now and its unbelievable that there are is a lot of stuff happening. It is too much to even describe all the details about whats happening. Tonight I had one of the most inspirational times in my life. I got a closer look into what is actually happening and learning about other peoples stories through songs, experiences, and conversations.

I saw Koji for the first time tonight on his Resolve Tour. They are spreading the word about children soldiers in the LRA and has been going on for the past 25 years. I’ve been on church mission trips to further educate myself about the community around and within my country. At the end of Koji’s set, they invited us to a workshop to talk further into the goals of the tour and issues placed before us. Congress passed a bill, that Michigan’s Senator co-signed, helping foreign aid help bring children back to there tribes and families to let them live a life of peace. With D.C. being in the current problems they plan to cut funds for foreign aid. We all signed and for the people that stayed for the workshop wrote letters to Senator Levin to encourage to find funding for this program.

It blows my mind how much people have a voice. In love, family, communities, friendships, and the world. We may be poor college students that are just trying to make a living in our world and think that there is not much we can do. There really is a lot that can be done. Your voice is one of the most powerful things we can use. Speak up. Educate your friends and families about what’s happening. Whether it’s within your community, state, or across the ocean to another country. People will listen. Just speak.

Too much is going through my head right now. This is just one of the many things to write about. Goodnight.
